Kevin A. Brown launched EQUANIM Technologies in 2000 armed with a passion for health care and information technology and a commitment to deliver premier consulting services.
Kevin began his career at Price Waterhouse serving clients in various nationwide government sectors. His desire to focus on healthcare information technology drove his decision to join Foundation Health in Sacramento, where he led a team that built and implemented a Medicaid Client Relationship Management (CRM) and health enrollment system. From there, Kevin served as Director of Business and Technology at MAXIMUS, where he was instrumental in expanding company services during the company’s Initial Public Offering (IPO).
Kevin has extensive experience in collaborating with IT and healthcare organizations to develop innovative approaches to solve complex business problems. Kevin helped California’s largest health care purchasers (CalPERS, Covered California, DHCS) procure and implement healthcare data warehouse solutions to advance and inform the purchasing of healthcare for millions of Californians. He also led an enterprise-wide team at CalPERS to implement the Affordable Care Act (ACA) provisions, which included the reimbursement of $40+ Million in early retiree reinsurance. The ACA implementation at CalPERS was recognized by the U.S. Health and Human Services Agency.
Kevin received a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from California State University, Sacramento. He is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and has a certification in Health Information Technology. He is also a certified Agile ScrumMaster, and Product Owner.
Kevin enjoys spending time bike riding, snow skiing, traveling, and walking his dogs.
